Sweet little Ruby Jeanette Cooke had my heart absolutely melting the moment I met her. January had been a month full of family & newborn shoots and I will admit I was getting a little bit to the point where I needed to shoot something other than a baby, but then I met Ruby. Awwwh! The broodiness is gushing out of me can you tell?

Ruby’s mummy Janet is a midwife and since I shot her & Alan’s beautiful wedding day in August 2010 ( yes that’s right – another of my wedding couples) we have had many lengthy and sometimes ‘graphic’ conversations about , well, labour, pain relief, feeding, and in general being a mum – mostly all in front of Alan I might add who is just immune to all this talk by now – anyway – the point I am trying to make is Janet has taken to motherhood like a duck to water…it just seems so perfectly easy and natural for her and it is really beautiful thing to behold.

Imogen 16.2.12

You may remember the very beautiful wedding of Kathryn & Mark which I shot last June, well they have now added another little member to their family, Baby Imogen. She is almost 3 weeks old in these pictures, wide awake and cute as a button. Her big brother Alfie was so good the entire time, and believe me (my photographer friends will agree with me on this) when someone books you to shoot a 2 year old with a newborn, a slight worry takes over as it is one of the most difficult combinations…but, pleased to say on this occasion it worked out well.

Kathryn fits the ‘yummy mummy’ description perfectly – her figure is amazing and her toned arms fill me with envy! She is a joy to photograph as the camera just loves her! Daddy Mark is such a poser ( not!) he makes me laugh each time as he really is not the biggest fan of my camera – but he will always oblige me…secretly hoping that each event I photograph surely might be the last…LOL!

Keri & Leo 10.2.12

I thought since this is Valentine’s Day a little love on the blog would be appropriate and so I am letting my wedding from the weekend skip the queue….dont worry – 2 beautiful baby posts coming very soon.

So on Friday I shot my first wedding of 2012. It was wonderful. It was old hollywood glamour done in a very classy way. Keri, who owns ‘The Pamper Parlour’ in Omagh is a fantastic Make up Artist who I have worked with in the past. And I am pleased to say that on the morning of her own wedding she was nothing short of delightful. She did her own makeup, whilst simultaneously eating cake and touching up the others! She was calm and so so relaxed and that seemed to filter through to everyone and remain there for the entire day. She made time for everyone and even when I started to hint that perhaps we should be getting that fabulous gown on now, she took the time to chat & play with the 2 beautiful girls, Ruby & Vicki…just for a minute…but in that minute I saw what a beautiful person she is, inside & out.

Leo and Keri have been together a long time ( I want to say 10 years?) and it shows….they are completely effortless with each other, and even though I only met Leo for the first time at the chapel doors he was willing and helpful and clearly adores his new wife.

This was a very good start to my year and if they all go off half as easy as this one well I won’t have much to grumble about!

Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Meenan. It was a pleasure x

Miceál 1.2.12.

This is Baby Miceál. Born on Boxing Day 2011 – it was quite a Christmas for his parents Roisin & Michael who weren’t expecting this little man until the 9th Jan….but I guess he just couldn’t wait to meet them.

So at almost 5 weeks old Miceál was a little bit past the ‘newborn’ stage. He just wanted to stretch and be cuddled and look around him – he has so many expressions – his granny calls him ‘the boy with 40 faces’. He is really strong too. I rolled him onto his tummy and I honestly thought he was going to crawl away on me……’super’ baby style!

He did fall asleep in my arms and so I did get some gorgeous little sleepy shots – but my favourites are the ones with his mummy, and since I knew Roisin well, having already photographed her stylish winter wedding in Dec 2009 – I knew she would be more daring and try the skin to skin shots – and well, they are just beautiful. As for daddy Micheal, well we stripped his wellies off for a few shots with his wee son. Micheal is not a fan of my camera, but I promised him a few shots of his cows and we made a deal lol!

Harrison is one! 26.1.12

This is little Harrison – you may recognise him, or his mummy & daddy as we have done many shoots together now. Ive clicked when Sharon & Gareth got engaged, said their “I do’s”, when Harrison was just a ‘bump’ and also when he arrived. And now he is one year old already. And he may infact be the happiest little dude on the planet.

I know I use the words ‘beautiful’, ‘gorgeous’ and ‘love’ a lot – believe me – I sicken myself sometimes. But I can’t help it – I DO think my shoots are beautiful – I DO think babies are gorgeous and I DO LOVE what I do and I am not sorry to say that photographing little Harrison on his first birthday was more of a treat for me than a morning at work….especially when Sharon brought out the homemade cupcakes….YUM!

Anyways – here are some of my favourites from this one, but I literally could blog them all.

Malo. 25.1.12

I was so excited to meet little 14 month old Malo. I had the pleasure of photographing Rhona & Nicolas gorgeous sunny wedding in 2009 and they were definitely one of my favourite couples ever. They live now in France with their beautiful wee son and another little bump on the way for March. It is such a pleasure when couples come back to me for the next stage in their lives and really I could have chatted them and cuddled Malo all day long. When he left he said ‘Au revoir’. MELT! guys – I wish I could fly out to South of France for the next one…..Good luck & keep in touch xx

Baby Jack 18.1.12

Last week I finally got to meet the gorgeous little Baby Jack. He is 5 weeks old in these pictures, I had hoped to capture him sooner, but with the Christmas holidays and then me having a horrible cold which I didn’t want to pass on, we had to wait a little longer – but it didn’t matter. He was such a wee gem to shoot. So content and full of expression. His beautiful parents Emma and Paul are so laid back & easy going – it’s not hard to tell why Jack is the same. Sadly Paul was working on the day of our shoot – but don’t worry Paul – this is just the beginning of your story & I will be back!

Little Jack was awake for the entire shoot, but just as I was packing up to leave he fell asleep and though I wouldn’t normally want to disturb a sleeping baby – I knew that Jack would be ok for ‘just one more.’ We stripped the poor wee poppet and got him all cuddled up in a fur rug and a basket which I have since been donated ( Thank you Auntie Glynis ) and those final few frames were totally worth it – I am sure you will agree. x

He cuddled his little cow teddy so tightly.

I always love it when Sonya Mac ( Session Stylist extrordinaire) contacts me with an idea for a shoot. She does everything – styles, books MUA and finds the models and locations…it makes my life really easy to just show up and then put my little stamp on her awesome concept. We had a wonderful afternoon shooting this ‘Willy Wonka’ Themed shoot at Aunt Sandra’s Candy Factory, Belfast. Lisa K is such a wonderful model to work with – she will literally try anything you ask of her and is SOOOO good at facial expressions and bringing characters to life and of course the awesomeness which is Stacey Kilpatrick @Sak Designs provided excellent Makeup on the day. Here are a few of my favourites from the sugary sweet shoot. x

OK, this is to be my first EVER blog post. I have no clue what I am doing, setting up a blog is actually a lot trickier than I first thought and I am running before I can walk, but here goes – I am sure I will work out all the widgets and whathaveyous as I go along. If you have enjoyed my Facebook page, I hope you will check in on this, my new blog, from time to time. Here I will preview my shoots, things which inspire me, some random thoughts and most probably too many images of my little son, Brody.

To start us off, here he is….Today was a rare occurrence for me, I had a free Saturday, the house was in a reasonable state of clean, and the sun was shining beautifully -I know there were a million things I should have been doing, but I couldn’t resist. I took Brody and Harry (the pooch) for a walk and of course my new Nikon D3s came too (it’s my other baby). Here are some pretty pics of my little dude from this morning….enjoy x
